Gordon's Legacy Changes Lives Forever

Michelle and her daughter, Breea

Michelle and her daughter, Breea

Roy Gordon, a World War II pilot, dedicated his life to his country, touching the lives of many. But his impact did not stop there. Through his estate, Mr. Gordon established the Roy Gordon Endowment at Rady Children's Chadwick Center for Children and Families, creating a lasting legacy of care and compassion. The Endowment provides ongoing benefits to the Chadwick Center, helping children and families when they are most vulnerable.

Michelle and her 7-year-old daughter, Breea, are just such a family, faced with crisis when they were kidnapped by a masked gunman in their own home. They were rescued, but struggled with the emotional trauma—until they met a counselor from the Chadwick Center at Rady Children's. It took more than two years of intense counseling at Chadwick before they were able to beat back the nightmares, flashbacks and panic attacks. Now Breea is a flourishing high school student and Michelle has a new career as a public speaker and advocate for victims of violence.

The Chadwick Center's important work can be done only with the support of the community and generous philanthropy from donors. Through his generosity, Mr. Gordon will be remembered forever, and his legacy will continue to help the Chadwick Center provide the best possible care to San Diego's children.
